Mrs W's 'Smash Burgers' with burger sauce

Burgers are super easy and cheap to make from scratch. If you make your own you can adapt the ingredients to suit your taste. For example, you do not need to use beef - you could use chicken or pork or even vegan mince. You add other additional fillings like BBQ sauce or onion rings...the options are endless!

The quantities in below are for one bun with 2 'smash burgers' in it.

Ingredients

Burgers
100g minced/ground beef rolled into 2 x golf ball sized balls
pinch of salt and pepper
oil of any type

Burger sauce
Tablespoon of mayonnaise
Tablespoon of ketchup
Teaspoon of American mustard (like French's)
Finely chopped dill pickle/gherkin
Teaspoon of garlic powder
Teaspoon of paprika

Other ingredients
burger bun
Cheese slices (American is the best)

Optional extras
lettuce
large slice of tomato
slice of onion

Instructions

1. Mix the burger sauce ingredients together in a bowl and put to one side
2. Heat up a teaspoon of oil in a frying pan/skillet
3. Put your balls of minced/ground beef into the pan and flatten (use the bottom of a glass or a spatula) so that they are less than 1cm thick - sprinkle with salt and pepper
4. Cook on a medium heat for 2 minutes and then flip over
5. Lay a slice of cheese on top and cook for another 2 minutes until the cheese is melted
6. Stack your 2 burgers into your bun and add your fillings and loads of burger sauce!

YUM
